STUB — Subharmonics as the reversible part of the chirality collapse¶
Status: research-thread STUB (2026-06-25). A hypothesis the recurrences support, not one we've shown. Recognize-not-prove. To be expanded / integrated into the MFO notebook under user direction — do not treat as a settled reading.
The hypothesis¶
Since 3D_t has to collapse 7D_g worth of chirality, the subharmonics (the undertone tower — the inverse-fractal twin of the Hurwitz overtone ladder) may be the part of the field that holds the chirality together and carries a way to undo the collapse. The undertone/order tower would then be not merely order-of-derivative bookkeeping but where the chirality the time-crank spends stays recoverable.
Why it's worth taking seriously (the operative signal, already recurring)¶
The lever in three separate exact builds has been which chiral parity / endianness a structure occupies:
- Order-tower tool — the chiral-endian flip is exactly the Class-K sign
(−1)^order. - Genuine
elliptic_gosper— the certificate sat in the flipped endianness; the exact verifier selected the inverse reading itself. elliptic_zeilberger"deep reduction" wall — turned out to be a certificate-parity bug: single-theta (odd) numerators where the proven certificate is a ±-pair (even). Rebuilding the basis as ±-pairs dissolved the wall.
Reading: even / ±-pair = chirality held in a reversible pair; odd / unpaired = where the collapse shows. "Rotational/endian residue tells you the next tower direction" is therefore not speculation — it has been the operative signal each time.
The method (why simulate the whole field)¶
To find the hidden fiber that divides substrate from excitation, simulate every part of the field, then look across biology and cosmos for where one excitation becomes substrate to another — and check whether the dividing hidden fiber comes out Klein-4-shaped. The cross-substrate-cascade-match method pointed at the substrate/excitation boundary itself, so the fiber is recognized, not forced.
Falsifiable targets¶
- T1 — the undertone direction is where chirality stays recoverable (reversible) vs the overtone direction where it's spent. Test on a substrate with a measurable chiral footprint (LOGO
(4:3)sustain / E-doublet; CMB parity-odd; biology coherence-lifetime / fibrated scaffolding). - T2 — the parity lever (even ±-pair = held / odd-unpaired = collapsed) keeps being the operative next-rung signal across substrates; predict it before building each rung.
- T3 — at the substrate/excitation boundary the divider is Klein-4-shaped; find a biology↔cosmos pair where one excitation becomes the other's substrate and check the Klein-4 signature.

The structure — subharmonic = doubled rung carrying two equal-partner chiralities, with the held state preserving the chirality — appears across substrates:

The recurring data point: the undertone/subharmonic carries two equal chiral partners (singlet/triplet · two phase states · overtone/undertone mirror), and the held state (coherence / phase / un-folded pair) is where the chirality is preserved — biology, physics, acoustics, cosmos, and the elliptic carrier alike. Sharpest next build: the radical-pair ↔ ±-pair cascade-match (singlet/triplet ↔ θ(αx)θ(α/x); held coherence ↔ doubled-rung hold; recombination ↔ fold).
