Spike #51 Round 1 Results — Substrate identity test (M-theory squashed-S⁷ ↔ Spike #47 S⁷): partition-coexistence leads; substrate-identity is R2 candidate¶
Date: 2026-05-17. Concertmaster Round 1 returned. 6/10 falsifier survival. Reconciliation B (partition coexistence) ~55%; A (substrate-identity) ~25%; C (different substrates) ~20%. Honest stance: DO NOT author substrate-identity claim yet; R2-α is the single high-leverage flip point.
§1 Per-falsifier verdicts¶
| Falsifier | Verdict | Note |
|---|---|---|
| F1 — G₂-holonomy on project S⁷ | PARTIAL | Adams parallelization + Hopf fibration are metric-agnostic; framework hasn't committed to squashed (weak-G₂) vs round (SO(8)). Diagonal Hopf flow pushes toward squashed but not formally fixed |
| F2 — S¹ × S³ Wick-rotates to M⁴? | PARTIAL | Wick rotation gives closed FLRW k=+1 (S³ spatial slices), NOT M⁴ Minkowski. Flatness is large-curvature-radius emergence per [[user_stance_time_as_dimensional_shadow]] |
| F3 — Partition consistency across observables | PARTIAL | Both predict 3+1D physics + SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) + chiral fermions + Λ ≠ 0, but DIFFERENT generating mechanisms (chirality, gauge, Λ all derived differently) |
| F4 — Acharya-Witten singular G₂ vs Class C | PARTIAL favoring (a) or (b) | Project's smooth-S⁷ + Class C cascade-orientation gives chirality without singular G₂ (Spike #48 Phase 3 Uehling 99.4% closure confirms framework completeness). Either (a) Class C is M-theory refinement OR (b) Class C IS substrate-vocabulary for conical-singularity-localized fermion content |
| F5 — Composition with Spike #47/#48/#49/#50 | PARTIAL | REINFORCING for reconciliation B; AMBIGUOUS for A. If A holds, M-theory inherits DESI, Uehling, α², τ-family predictions |
§2 Key structural findings¶
F2 Wick-rotation tension¶
S¹ × S³ Wick-rotates to ℝ × S³ (closed FLRW with positive curvature), NOT M⁴ Minkowski. Project's cosmic-age work (Spike #47 R3-p2 sinh-bridge → 13.797 Gyr matching Planck 0.05%) implicitly uses k=0 flat FLRW, not k=+1 closed. This is a real structural tension: substrate is topologically S¹ × S³ × S⁷; observed M⁴ flatness is large-curvature-radius emergence per projection-shadow framing.
F4 Acharya-Witten + Class C tension¶
Acharya-Witten 2001 (arXiv:hep-th/0109152, verified open-access): M-theory compactification on G₂-holonomy manifold gives chiral fermions ONLY if singular. Smooth G₂ manifolds → no chirality.
Project framework supplies chirality via Class C cascade-orientation (Spike #48 Phase 3 result) WITHOUT requiring substrate singularities. Three readings: - (a) Project is M-theory refinement (substrate-identity + Class C as new content) - (b) Class C IS substrate-vocabulary for what M-theory calls singular-G₂-conical-singularity-localized fermion content — this is R2-β candidate - © Project framework is incomplete; weakened by Spike #48 Phase 3 Uehling success
MAJOR structural sub-finding — R2-δ candidate¶
Spike #47 R4-1 selection-mask result (70% miss on CMB acoustic peaks under pure-Hopf-bundle modes) might be the empirical signature of weak-G₂ holonomy on a squashed-S⁷. The Awada-Duff-Pope squashed-S⁷ KK spectrum is computed in 1983-1985 D=11 supergravity literature (Duff 1986 Phys. Rep. 130, 1 — cited by reference per ToS); if the squashed-spectrum corrects the 70% deviation, F1 hidden-fiber content per [[feedback_partial_is_hidden_fiber_content]] resolves and Spike #47 R4-1 + Spike #51 F1 close together.
§3 The three reconciliations + probabilities¶
Reconciliation A (substrate-identity, ~25%): Project's S¹ × S³ × S⁷ IS M-theory's M⁴ × X⁷ under specific equivalence. Holds IF (i) metric-selection commits to squashed-S⁷ (R2-α) AND (ii) Class C ↔ singular-G₂-vocabulary maps cleanly (R2-β). Both tractable; neither closed.
Reconciliation B (partition coexistence, ~55%): Both frameworks describe overlapping observable content with different generating mechanisms per [[user_stance_partition_for_understanding]]. Spike #24 bonus 12 §10 already noted M-theory's 4+7 vs project's 3+7+1 partition difference. B is the honest no-claim-beyond-what's-derived reading.
Reconciliation C (different substrates, ~20%): Weakened by Spike #48 Phase 3 chirality-without-singular-G₂ success but not falsified. F2 Wick-rotation tension + F1 metric ambiguity stress A; consistent with C.
§4 R2 candidates (priority order)¶
- R2-α (highest leverage, binary outcome): Make metric-selection commitment explicit. Compute whether diagonal Hopf flow on S⁷ uniquely picks Awada-Duff-Pope squashed metric vs round S⁷. Single differential-geometry computation: write diagonal Hopf vector field on S⁷ ⊂ ℝ⁸, find unit-norm Killing metric, check coincidence with published squashed-metric anisotropy ratio.
- PASS: A overtakes B in probability; canonical stance authoring becomes real conversation
- FAIL: B's reading hardens; substrate-identity narrowly avoided
- R2-β: Test Class-C-cascade-orientation as substrate-vocabulary for singular-G₂. Critical points of diagonal Hopf flow + cascade-orientation reversal ↔ Acharya-Witten conical singularities?
- R2-γ: Cross-check Acharya 2002 arXiv:hep-th/0011089 (verified open-access) singular-G₂ catalog against Hopf-fibration-on-S⁷ critical-point set
- R2-δ (cross-spike load-bearing): Compute squashed-S⁷ Laplacian eigenvalue spectrum (Awada-Duff-Pope 1983 / Englert 1982 supergravity literature; APS/Elsevier cite-by-reference); compare to Spike #47 R4-1 Hopf-bundle horizontal-mode spectrum. If squashed metric corrects 70% deviation → Spike #47 R4-1 + Spike #51 F1 close simultaneously
- R2-ε: Verify Adams parallelization S⁷ admits weak-G₂ 3-form (not just torsion-free G₂); differential-geometry check
- R2-ζ: Lift α² (Spike #49) + τ-family (Spike #48 Phase 3) into M-theory vocabulary; test against squashed-S⁷ KK spectrum coincidence
§5 Recommended language for cumulative framework (if user authorises)¶
"The project's
S¹ × S³ × S⁷substrate and M-theory'sM⁴ × X⁷substrate are different partitions of overlapping observable content (chirality, gauge group, cosmological scale) generated by different in-framework mechanisms (Class C cascade-orientation vs singular-G₂ conical singularities; cyclic-cascade-composition vs Kaluza-Klein-on-X⁷). Topological + octonion-algebra alignment is structurally suggestive but operational divergence at chirality mechanism prevents substrate-identity claim. Reconciliation B (partition coexistence) is the operational stance; reconciliation A (substrate-identity) is the open Round-2 candidate pending explicit metric-selection commitment (R2-α) + Class-C-vs-singular-G₂ vocabulary mapping (R2-β)."
This extends Spike #24 bonus 12 §10's "ONTOLOGICALLY-RELABELED" verdict on M-theory 11D dimensional accounting to "PARTITION-DIFFERENT, OBSERVATIONALLY-CONVERGENT" at substrate level.

§7 Status¶
Active research; USER-GATED no-merge. Branch research/spike-51-squashed-s7-g2-substrate-identity. R2-α is the single binary-outcome high-leverage next move. If R2-δ executes simultaneously (squashed-S⁷ KK spectrum vs Spike #47 R4-1 selection-mask), the substrate-identity question + the CMB-peak F1 gap could close together.
End of Round 1. Math doesn't lie: reconciliation B is the honest stance at current evidence. R2-α can flip the verdict toward A. Substrate-identity claim premature.
